Breaking Nudes, Opening Minds
March 19th, 2025 — Breaking briefly from work on production of his Byron biopic, the film Lightning in the Veins, to update his readers, Borden announces today that—following the forthcoming publication on October 21st this year of his fourth collection of poetry, Bullets in the Temple (To Open Closed Minds)—he will release on October 19th, 2027 his fifth (and eleventh book overall), called New Pornographies: A Backward Path to Heaven, both to be available everywhere in print and electronic formats.
Those eager to read Jono’s latest lyrical offerings will be elated to see here soon twenty newly-minted works penned since winter’s end which had been, due to competing obligations, delayed their due appearance online or elsewhere.
When not arranging the making of a movie his imagination and determination birthed or scribing evocative confrontational verse, Borden has been busied reading poetry by others, having devoured recently the latest books by several of his favourite contemporaries; Kaveh Akbar’s Pilgrim Bell, Mary Jo Bang’s A Film in Which I Play Everyone, Diane Seuss’ Modern Poetry, Jake Byrne’s Daddy, and Maria Zoccola’s Helen of Troy, 1993 being immediate obsessions and instant recommendations to everyone interested.
