Blue Velvet Veil

My stained glass must be half-full,

Oh, it’s all coming up poses

As I vogued when I rose this

Evening from my virgin wool.

My bed sheets were diamonds, too

And my vision was clouded—

My drink had my face shrouded

In a velvet veil so blue.

My drink had been my courage

But, now it’s my one worry

’Cause my vision is blurry

And drinking I discourage.
